Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne (Corca Dhuibhne Regional Museum) is situated in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh (Ballyferriter), 13 km (8 miles) west of Dingle, in the West Kerry Gaeltacht. It is the ideal place to find out about the archaeology, history, culture and environment of the Dingle Peninsula before you go out to explore all the wonderful monuments, both natural and man-made, of the area. The most recent addition is an exhibition about whales and dolphins in this area. Our small but pertinent collection of objects is enhanced by material from the area on loan from the National Museum of Ireland, including several ogham stones and cross slabs from the early medieval period. Interactive computer displays about the early medieval period, ogham stones and learning a few words of the Irish language all compliment our display. Travelling exhibitions are hosted from time to time. We have a great bookshop, and café with home baking, and the knowledgeable staff are delighted to answer all your questions. Beidh fáilte is fiche romhat!
