The Museum of Free Derry was established by the Bloody Sunday Trust to tell the story of the civil rights movement and the creation of Free Derry in the 1960s and 1970s. The story, including the civil rights era, Battle of the Bogside, Internment, Free Derry and Bloody Sunday, is told from the point of view of those who were most involved in and affected by these events – the Free Derry community. The museum is an independent, non-profit, social economy initiative.
