Home to the Museum of Style Icons, one of the most unique collections of fashion and cinema memorabilia in the world and now officially Ireland’s fifth most visited free tourist attraction, the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre has something on offer for all ages. The Museum of Style Icons boasts a world-class collection of some of the greatest style and cinema memorabilia ever to exist. The collection includes garments worn by Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Barbra Streisand, Tippi Hedren, Ingrid Bergman, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and so much more. The many highlights of the collection included the largest known collection of Audrey Hepburn garments in the world, the only known garment to exist that was worn by Greta Garbo in one of her 33 films and the only two garments that were owned by Princess Grace and are now on display outside of the Palace of Monaco. Other key iconic pieces include a two-piece costume of orange wool worn by Barbra Streisand in “Funny Girl”, a Balenciaga couture gown created for Ava Gardner and a Catherine Walker dress with matching bolero, which were designed for Princess Diana. This unique collection welcomes over 350,000 visitors each year, is open seven days a week and is free to the public.
