What to expect at The Rock Shop in Lahinch
The Rock Shop in Lahinch is a family-run attraction and shop in County Clare, known for fossils, gemstones, crystals, collectible rocks and gifts. It is a good stop for visitors who enjoy geology, natural history, unusual shops or family-friendly places connected with the landscape of the west of Ireland.
The building has its own local story, as the existing description notes that it was originally a primary school at St Brigid’s Well before later becoming The Rock Shop. That gives the place more character than a standard gift shop and makes it a useful short stop for anyone exploring Lahinch and the surrounding Clare coast.
The Rock Shop is a family owned and run business and with the help of knowledgeable dedicated staff we hold strong values of quality and customer care. The building was originally the primary school in St Brigid’s Well which was closed in the early 1990’s. The Rock Shop opened in 1998, being just the size of two small classrooms. It was extended to its current size two years later. It now boasts a fascinating display of fossils, gemstones and collectible rocks for collectors young and old. See beautiful crystals in their natural form. With an extensive range of jewellery, pottery, gift ware and textiles we have been called ‘a virtual Aladdin’s cave’.
