Wexford County Archive is the official repository in the county for the archives and records of Wexford Local Authorities and for local private collections. Collections are preserved in accordance with our Preservation Policy and made available for research purposes in our Reading Room. Some of our outreach services include holding workshops on preserving family archives; facilitating school and group visits to the archive; digitisation of collections for online access. The Archive houses an extensive range of private collections which reflect the economic, agricultural, historical, political, maritime, architectural and social landscape of Co. Wexford, including estate papers collections, business records, maritime archives, solicitors’ collections, school records, hospital records, records of local clubs and societies. We also hold the archives of the predecessor bodies of the present local government system, e.g. grand jury records and workhouse records.
