An Post Museum is located right inside the General Post Office, Dublin. It is home to the interactive exhibition Letters, Lives and Liberty, which explores the rich history of the Irish Post Office and its role in the development of Irish society, transport and communications for more than 400 years. The exhibition also tells the story of the GPO, one of Ireland’s most prestigious landmarks. Not only is this beautifully designed neoclassical building one of the oldest working purpose built postal headquarters in the world, it is also famous for being the headquarters of the insurgents during the 1916 Rising.
