Tarbert Bridewell Courthouse & Jail was built in 1831 and depicts the rough justice meted out in 19th Century Ireland. The Exhibition features a Spine Chilling re-creation of the Judicial and Prison system in the 1830’s. Meet the accused Thomas Dillon, share his anguish and follow his trial and judgement. The life size models – Court Room – Prison Cells – Exercise Yards and Keepers Quarters are a grim reminder of the intolerant judicial regime of impoverished 19th century Ireland. Exhibitions include: An exhibition of the Judicial system in the 1800’s in Tarbert & the Munster Circuit. The Land League flag of Tarbert. John Redmond defended locals in Tarbert Bridewell.
