A permanent exhibition, devoted to Ernest Shackleton, Polar Explorer. It includes one of his sledges, with harness, and a 15 -foot model of his famous expedition ship, “Endurance”, which became trapped in the Antarctic, and was eventually crushed by the ice, marooning Shackleton and his crew. Documentation includes information panels and an audio-visual presentation which shows film shot by Frank Hurley on the Endurance expedition (1914 – 1916). There are also Shackleton Family photographs.
