The Royal Cork Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club in the world. Founded in 1720, the club is home to a number of historic yachts, including several Cork-One-Designs and Denis Doyles record-breaking “Moonduster”. The club retains a collection of marine paintings including “The Water Club Race”, showing early racing “hookers”, evidence of Dutch influence on small Irish craft. A comprehensive book, “History of The Royal Cork Yacht Club” was published in 2005.
