Drimnagh Castle is situated in the suburbs some three miles to the south-west of Dublin city centre. Until 1954 it was one of the oldest continually inhabited castles in Ireland and is an outstanding example of an old feudal stronghold in the Dublin area. From this high vantage point the inhabitants of Drimnagh Castle could survey the lands which stretched from the Dublin mountains to the river Liffey. Drimnagh is the only Irish castle still to be surrounded by a flooded moat, a very picturesque feature. The castle has seen some interesting times and still does today with films, photo-shoots , weddings and various events being held there.
