The Museum houses many varied collections of objects of Irish historical interest including displays on: the Penal Times, the Great Famine, 1916 Rising and the War of Independence. There is an olde time Irish kitchen, an old fashioned pub, an old carpenters workshop and an old forge. Items from the Stone Age and a selection of old history books are also on display. There is a dairy and threshing set, an old horse threshing set, old Irish transport, a selection of old G.A.A. items, an old petrol station and a selection of Irish wildlife, all reflecting the lifestyle of the ordinary people in Ireland in times past. There is also a fine display of musical instruments alongside a collection of old church items and a display of old bicycles and old prams. It houses over 10,000 items ranging in date from 2,000 B.C. to the recent past.
