The Boyne Currach Centre Maritime Collection

The Boyne Currach Centre is located in Bru na Boinne, Dun Uabhair (county of Meath)

Position on map:

This centre is focussed on skinboats, in particular coracles. Exhibits include a collection of small coracles, locally known as Boyne Currachs, at various stages in the build process. Most of the coracles have a hide covering. There is also also a large skin covered currach. The centre has been a focus for a local club which now has around 20 coracles in use on the Boyne. There are displays of information on the building and history of the Boyne Currach. Note that at this time (Oct 2005) the centre is closed for renovation.
