Waterford Treasures is located in The Granary, Merchants Quay, Waterford (county of Waterford)

Position on map:

The museum is housed within an old stone granary, and uses impressive modern display systems and techniques. It includes a permanent exhibition on maritime Waterford and it’s close links with the Newfoundland / Grand Banks fishery (a significant proportion of the Newfoundlanders are descended from Waterford emigrants), with some very nice fishing equipment on display. The exhibition also includes possibly the oldest ships cannon found in Ireland (1495), a number of half models and anchors, and there are several archaeologically important ships timbers in storage.
