This extensive collection is compressed into two rooms in the library building. A large collection of models of the Arklow merchant fleet, including some of the last merchant sailing ships in the British Isles. Good model of the Asgard II which was built in Arklow. History of local boatbuilding, including Tyrells Boatyard. Huge collection of prints, photographs, maps and charts. Extensive marine painting collection, much of which is in storage. Other artifacts include personal items donated by families of merchant seamen, including shipwrights tools and maritime memorabilia. This museum has possibly one of the most valuable collections of maritime artifacts with traceable provenance in the state.
